Assessments:

As students are working and learning remotely, we are still responsible for district and state mandated assessments.  Teachers also use formal and informal assessments to gauge where their students are performing.  This data is then used for teachers to guide their instruction.  We want to remind families that it is okay to see students fail, often they can learn from their mistakes.  Teachers can especially use the data from assessments to provide reteach opportunities and group students into appropriate small groups based on student ability.  Please allow your students to work independently without parent support on quizzes and assessments.

Flu Shot Clinic at GOK:

This year Albertsons Market Pharmacy is conducting FREE (with insurance) outdoor drive-thru flu shot clinics that allow entire families to be quickly vaccinated while remaining safely inside their vehicles. We follow all CDC COVID Safe Immunization Practices which includes wearing face shields, N95 face masks, isolation gowns, and we change our gloves and apply hand sanitizer after each car. We will be set-up at the Georgia O'Keeffe Elementary School parking lot on Monday, November 9th from 2:30pm to 5pm. Please bring a completed consent form and include your insurance information at the bottom. This year it is especially important to get immunized against influenza so we can keep our limited healthcare resources available to fight COVID-19. We hope to see your entire family at our free school based flu clinic being conducted on November 9th.
